Layering extensions benefit you in many ways

  • Layers give your install a more natural look which makes the Hair Extensions less detectable.
  • Layering makes for a lighter install which will make it more comfortable to wear.
  • Layering also adds fullness and volume, A layered haircut can add bounce and body to hair.
  • Layers suit a wide variety of facial types: Long layers and short layers that add height to the crown slim round faces, while soft, round layers around the face can soften the lines of square jaws and foreheads. For ladies with diamond faces, layers can accentuate the beautiful shape of the cheekbones. Heart-shaped faces often benefit from longer layers that call attention to the chin.
  • Less drying time. Ladies with thick hair that is difficult to dry will love how much quicker it is to air or blow dry layered tresses, especially if there are layers of multiple lengths throughout the cut.

The one downside to layers is you will have to spend more time styling installs with layers, so if you’re a little lazy when it comes to doing your hair layers may not be for you.

Step By Step layering Hair Extensions

  1. Divide hair extensions from ear to ear and then divide that section into two clipping both sections up using a duckbill clip.
  2. Divide the hair at the back into 3 sections with each section parted from left to right and secure each with a hair elastic. These ponytails should be stacked evenly on top of the other.
  3. If you want to keep the full length of the extensions leave the bottom ponytail at the nape uncut.
  4. Grab the second ponytail from the back of your head and bring the ends of the hair to the top of your head using your fingers and comb as a guide cut off 1-2 inches of hair carefully.
  5. Repeat this process with the third from the bottom ponytail but this time cutting 2 1/2 – 3 inches then let the hair down.
  6. With the two pigtails at the front, you will want to use the scissors to slide cut the hair beginning at your chin and working your way down  to the longest hair at the bottom.
  7. Repeat step 6 on the other front section, style and go!
