How Many Bundles for a Full Sew-in with a Closure?
The Sew-in Question Continues
A common question we are asked is How Many Bundles for a Sew-in? The answer, of course, varies depending on the fullness, the size of the head, the length of bundles and of course if you are going to use a closure or frontal. Let’s get a little more focused on specifically the needs when working with a closure.
Full Sew-In + Closures = How Many Bundles?
–Each bundle of hair we carry equals 100 grams (3.5oz)
–Anything over a 22″ requires more bundles
–The longer the length the more bundles you will need
–You should never get less than 2 bundles of hair if planning on doing a full head.
–If your head is slightly bigger than standard size going up a bundle or two is recommended.
–KEEP IN MIND the more bundles the bigger your head will be and the heavier your head will feel.
–Anything 30″ and over will need 4-5 bundles

Getting a sew in can be a little tricky when trying to figure out how many bundles you would need. Depending on how full you want your hair, the length of the bundles, and the textured hair you get is very important when figuring out how many bundles you need! Let’s say you want to go for the Kinky Curly afro look and you want it a little longer than shoulder length, you should probably go for a 14″ and since your going to have a closure 2 bundles will get the job done. Because the hair is so full and curly you don’t want to have too many bundles because that will be overwhelming. You can get away with fewer wefts with curly or kinky textures. The body/density of these curl patterns will make your hair look full, even with fewer wefts sewn in. The shorter the length of the hair the longer the wefts, so in this situation because you are getting a 14″ the bundles are going to be pretty thick. Now let’s say you want kinky curly but you want it in a 32″ two bundles just won’t do! longer bundles equal more bundles because the wefts are shorter! depending on how full you want it you may want to get 3-4 bundles. Now let’s say you want silky straight bundles and your planning on getting a bob, two bundles, and a closure are more than enough. Now if you want extremely thick hair that goes down to your waist depending on how tall you are a 26″-30″ will work best. You would need 3-4 bundles but if looking for extreme fullness an extra bundle would get the job done.
